Reduce-Reuse-Recycle-compost Awareness and Education, Plastic-free, Engaging businesses

Poor and unsustainable waste management in some of the Ionian Islands has many times made the national and international news. Due to a variety of reasons, the systems formally employed by authorities and the practices followed are far from modern and sufficient, having in some cases led to heavy environmental damages. Fortunately, awareness is on the upturn and many active initiatives push for change in the right direction.

Within this theme it is only meaningful to aim for radical change. We will be looking for opportunities to support effective groups that can promote the reduction of waste volumes, the reuse of objects and the proper recycling of materials, as well as the proper management of organic waste. Education and capacity-building are of key importance to work on.
