New Call for Grant Applications
The Ionian Environment Foundation (IEF) is launching its new Call for Proposals, inviting grassroots initiatives and community-led projects that aim to protect, regenerate, and celebrate the natural environment of the Ionian region.
Through this call, the Foundation will offer grants to support impactful actions that align with our core mission of promoting conservation, sustainability, and long-term environmental resilience.
What We Support
We welcome proposals across the following themes:
1. Marine Conservation
2. Habitat and Biodiversity Protection
3. Resource Management and Sustainable Development
4. Civil Society and Capacity Building
In this round, we will especially encourage local projects based in Lefkada and Kefalonia, while still welcoming proposals from across the Ionian Islands. We are particularly interested in ideas that connect multiple areas — such as environmental education paired with citizen science, or conservation efforts that engage visitors and local businesses.
Who Can Apply
Local non-profit organizations, clubs, associations, cooperatives, unions, research centers, and small businesses with an environmental focus are encouraged to apply.
What We’re Looking For
Projects should be clear, actionable, and show how they can create long-lasting, measurable results. We’re especially interested in initiatives that:

Grant Details

Indicative grant amount: €5,000 – €20,000

Application deadline: 30 September 2025

Evaluation period: October – November 2025

Project start date: Upon signing of Grant Agreement (flexible timeline agreed jointly)
