Every summer, millions of people are drawn to the beauty of the Ionian Islands. Yet the season that brings so much life to the region also places increasing pressure on the ecosystems that make it so extraordinary.
That’s why local conservation action has never been more important.
Since 2019, the Ionian Environment Foundation has raised more than €1 million to support 55+ environmental projects across the Ionian Islands, working alongside local communities and conservation partners to protect the region’s unique natural heritage.
In 2025 alone, our supported projects:
- Engaged more than 800 people directly
- Partnered with 23 schools
- Inspired 600+ students through environmental education
Together, these initiatives are strengthening local stewardship, protecting biodiversity, and helping ensure the Ionian’s seas, landscapes, and wildlife continue to thrive.
