IEF part of the Greek Islands Seagrass Alliance

We are delighted to announce our participation in the new five-year programme “Greek Islands Seagrass Alliance (GISA),” which aims to activate and engage communities on 20 selected islands across the Aegean and Ionian Seas.

Our mission is to help protect Posidonia oceanica meadows—one of the most precious ecosystems in the Mediterranean—both in coastal areas and beneath the sea surface.

The programme is designed and coordinated by the Cyclades Preservation Fund -CPF, with the support of the Seacology Foundation, and will be implemented in collaboration with outstanding and highly experienced partners: Argosaronic Environment Foundation, Hellenic Centre for Marine Research – HCMR, Προστασία της Φύσης (Ελληνική Εταιρία Προστασίας της Φύσης) and Aenaos Thalassa.
