THE IRIS PROJECT: ENABLING YOUNG PEOPLE TO PROTECT & RESTORE NATURE

Are you an individual or a youth-led organisation between the ages of 14 and 24 years old living in the Ionian Region?

Do you have an idea or an established project working to protect and restore nature as a core solution to the climate crisis?

The Iris Project enables young people to protect and restore nature – providing grant funding and peer-to-peer mentorship to young people working to deliver locally-led, nature-focused solutions to the climate crisis.

The Iris Project has launched an annual global award for three outstanding projects who best embody the spirit of the Iris Project – championing the protection and restoration of nature, and the rights of those who defend it.

Grants will be awarded in conjunction with mentorship and individually-tailored capacity building, facilitated by the Youth Advisory Panel.

Nature restoration takes a variety of forms – from traditional land stewardship, to innovative technological solutions. As such, the Iris Project will reward new ideas and established projects, hoping to overcome the circumstantial barriers that too often prevent young people from being able to advocate for nature-related change.

As well as empowering action through the annual Iris Prize, the Iris Project connects young people from around the world to share learnings, provide support, and advocate for change.

Application Deadline: 14th June 2022.

Please spread the word among your networks to encourage young environmentalists from the Ionian Islands to apply!
